What topics are covered in a First Aid course?

Our First Aid course is hands-on and scenario-based, covering a wide range of essential skills, including:

  • Performing CPR on an adult (including use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position).
  • Completing a first aid incident report form based on the adult CPR simulated scenario.
  • Performing CPR on an infant.
  • Managing casualties with:
    • Anaphylaxis
    • Asthma
    • Choking
    • Non-life-threatening bleeding and shock (including minor wound cleaning)
    • Nosebleeds
    • Fractures and dislocations
    • Sprains and strains
    • Envenomation (e.g., snake or funnel-web spider bites)
  • Simulated First Aid Scenarios:
    • Managing a casualty with a life-threatening bleed
    • Completing an incident report form based on the scenario
    • Coordinating a multiple casualty incident
