The Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015) course has a pre-requisite of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid which much be completed prior to undertaking this unit of competency.
With instruction and practical training in line with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical bodies, this Advanced Resuscitation course teaches the skills and knowledge to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective CPR, first aid treatment and oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings.
Instruction on first aid and CPR will be provided, as well as treatments specific to advanced conditions, such as:
The course covers recording casualty conditions, conveying incident details, completing workplace incident documentation, and debriefing to recognise areas for improvement, psychological impacts, and seeking help as required.
The delivery mode for this course is a combination of online learning, followed by face-to-face assessment. The online component takes approximately 2 hours and the face-to-face assessment 3 hours.
Please note that all the online learning must be completed prior to the face-to-face practical assessment.

Course Delivery Mode:
Online learning followed by face to face assessment (3 hrs)
Online Component:
This self-paced online component takes around 2 hours to complete, depending on your level of experience. It covers the theory components of the course through a series of video and online theory questions. You may choose to complete this during one or a number of sessions. You can also review the online theory after the course if you wish. We recommend that this component be completed using Google Chrome.
Face to Face Training:
This part of the course will take around 3 hours to complete. During this time you will cover the following assessment areas.

It is recommended that the First Aid Component be renewed every 3 years, in line with industry standards.
It is recommended that the CPR Component be renewed every 12 months, inline with Australian Resuscitation guidelines.

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.
This course has a pre-requisite of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid which much be completed prior to undertaking this unit of competency.
PLEASE NOTE: HLTAID003 Provide first aid is not equivalent to HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and can therefore not be used as a substitute for the pre-requisite requirement.
